Smoke Signals from the Chief

Wow this has been a great year! All of our events have been great success's in many different ways. As we are getting ready for Conclave, in which we host this April at our camp, I ask everyone to come together in the brotherhood of cheerful service. As always I urge you to get involved in our lodge events. Whether you are interested in ceremonies, dancing, leadership or just plan service to others, we offer it all with a bunch of fun. Once again I would like to reiterate just how honored I am to be able to serve as your Lodge Chief and remember if you have any questions feel free to contact me at any time.

2008 Sequoyah Lodge Winter Banquet
Hey guys,

The 2008 Sequoyah Lodge Winter Banquet went great; thank you to all who came out, even with the snow and ice. Hosted by the Pellissippi Chapter, we had great food and fellowship as we looked back on this past year and forward to the next. We were given a great speech from our new district executive, David Page, or “Supreme Chief of the Fire” as his daughter likes to call him, about the past, present, and future of our organization. The years awards were presented, including the Founders Awardto Mitchell Saulsbury and Anna Booher, and we parted ways both full and happy. If you missed it this year, be sure to get there next year; it is definitely worth it.

Service
Dear Arrowmen,

I would like to see you at the remaining workdays at Camp Davy Crockett. These are vital in being ready for Conclave this year. The whole month of March is crunch time as far as Conclave goes. We will also be scheduling clean up workdays as needed after Conclave. Lunch is provided at all workdays, and we will work from 9 am - 3 pm. Service is important in the OA and I hope to see an increasing number of people at these workdays. Please put those dates on your calendar and workout some carpools with other members! A special service lodge flap is also given to people who have a certain number of service hours workdays.

Spring Ordeal
Hello Arrowmen,

I would like to urge all of you to attend the Spring Ordeal this upcoming year. It is vital that we have camp ready for Conclave and we need all of the help we can get! We need to have people come down as elangomats and nimats in order to get new members active and lead candidates to make the ordeal a great success. On another note, I would ask you to attend every workday that you can. This not only prepares for Spring Ordeal but for Conclave as well and will make the ordeal run much smoother. The date for Spring Ordeal is April 3-5. Put it on your calendars! I encourage all arrowmen to attend and hope to see you there!

Cameron Mitchell
